Dasheeda Dawson is founder of The WeedHead™ & Company  and author of the bestselling workbook, How to Succeed in the Cannabis Industry, 3rd Edition. A global cannabis advocate and industry thought leader featured across multiple outlets, including Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and Essence, Dasheeda is a corporate-to-cannabis crossover pioneer and world-renowned cannabis industry strategist with experience as an industry educator, senior executive leader and strategy expert for multiple cannabis businesses, municipalities and media outlets across the country and abroad. In 2020, she was selected by the City of Portland to supervise all regulatory, licensing, compliance and equity initiatives for the city’s legal cannabis industry, both medical and adult-use. 


From Target to THC, she has nearly 20 years of business development, strategic management and brand marketing excellence while leading cross-functional teams for United Way, Target Corporation, and Victoria’s Secret. Dasheeda received her MBA from Rutgers Business School and completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at Princeton University. She is a weekly cannabis correspondent on SiriusXM Urban View and co-host on She Blaze, an award-winning weekly cannabis news and culture podcast available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and iHeartRadio. She serves as Board Chair of the national Cannabis Regulators of Color Coalition (CRCC). Along with her sisters Imani and Ice Dawson, she also co-founded Community Education Advocacy Symposium & Expo (CEASE), a Brooklyn-based nonprofit educating communities across the country about the myriad of opportunities in the cannabis industry.
