On March 21st—S7, Ep. 2—Ice asked what’s next for state-level c*nn*bis particularly mature markets, and I said we needed to double down on defending medical. Now that the *limited* #rescheduling chess move has been made… you can see I clocked it. 🤏🏾

So what did I say tho? Strengthen state medical programs. Teach people about their endocamnabinoid systems, starting with health professionals! 😩Beef up access to education & experience for consumers. The medicinal value AND potential medical use of the plant is inherent. 💪🏾Learn from the first wave of implementation that started 30 years ago instead of repeating it. At the same time, fight for the Whole plant’s medicinal value REGARDLESS of source.

Because what’s coming isn’t quite “progress”—it’s regulation under a different lens. And yes, that lens includes the DEA’s diversion control unit. That part matters.

This is about preparation. If you don’t understand the “why” behind these shifts, folks will move too fast in the wrong direction. And we’ve already seen how that plays out.

“We Did Our Part” Cannabis Lobby Day on April 28th was the largest we’ve seen since pre-legalization. Long day, big impact, real conversations, and operators stepping away from their businesses to stand on business.

This is what it looks like when people follow through despite the obstacles - When they choose to show up, even tired.

Grateful for everyone who pulled up, spoke up, and stayed the course. 🙏🏾

We did our part. Now we keep the pressure on!
